The main mission of the FN3PT and its Producer Organisations (POs) is to defend the general interests of seed potato growers and, in particular : ​

​

- the supply of human, material and IT ressources in the frame of control and certification and the possibility to reach, as a joint FN3PT/OP group, the service requirements of the Official Quality and Control Department (DQCO, SOC France) for sampling, inspections (fields and lots) and analyses ;

​

- seed potato traceability through the development of IT tools ;

​​

- coordinating the network of approved laboratories of POs for official analyses ;

​​

- management of the National Varietal and Health Collection (CNVS) and production of in vitro genealogical material in POs laboratories ;

​​

- contributing to planning by its members of areas of certified seed potatoes, especially for varieties free of plant breeders' rights ;

​

-  management of the seed potato section of the FMSE (National Health and Environnemental Risk Mutualisation Fund) and the introduction of production specifications based on certain preventive measures ;

​

- improving production, storage, plant protection and packaging technology, especially by promoting environmentally-friendly production methods ;

​

- development of improved economic approaches to seed potato production ;

​​

- representing seed potato growers in public and professional bodies at National and Community level and, where appropriate, beyond ;

​​

- develop export support via France Plants association

​

- work closely with inov3PT, the Agricultural Technical Institute for Seed Potato, to carry out research, development and innovation work​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
